Starting out, the Company's focus was on facilitating overseas companies to do business in India, and also to assist Indian companies in working with the State and Central governments to establish or expand manufacturing facilities and so forth. Over time, the scope of services expanded to include project management, industrial marketing and export, and also the geographical area served has expanded to include Europe.

O.M.S. employs senior professionals with experience in government and business. The services of various consultants, engineers and other professionals are used on a contractual basis as and when necessary.

M. Subramanyam, Founder Chairman & Managing Director
After over 20 years in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), during which he headed various major public sector companies, he set up O.M.S. in 1974, based in New Delhi. During government service, he served in the State and Central governments; started the state-owned Mysore Sales International, now a multi million dollar trading company; retired as Joint Secretary from the Ministry of Defence. Has worked extensively on foreign collaborations and joint ventures while in the government and also later.
 
S. Sumant,  Director & CEO
Education: MBA in International Business, Brussels, Belgium; Degrees in Law and BA (Economics), from Bangalore, India.

With about 20 years' experience in business development, project management and management consulting across industry verticals, has designed market entry strategies for an American cosmetics company, an American legal services company and a Chinese manufacturing company. Was responsible for setting up merchandise export operations, identifying and appointing vendors in Dubai, Singapore and Canada. Also started India's first music mail order service in 1985.

Heads OMS' Belgian office and projects for Indian and European clients. Earlier, while completing the MBA program in Belgium, individually designed and implemented market prospecting programs for Indian IT companies LTITL, Wipro, Datamatics, Mindware and FAST (Hyderabad). Generated opportunities to bid on for onsite Y2K and SAP projects in The Netherlands for LTITL and Datamatics; and RFQ for Wipro's services from Delaware Computing Group, Belgium.
 
European Consultants
For business development in the Benelux we collaborate on project-wise basis with a medium sized firm established since 1989, with offices in Antwerp and Brussels. They have implemented projects for the European commission and private European companies all over Europe and the middle East. Clients have included SME s in manufacturing and construction; large MNC s in industrial products; food industry; security products; retail; and IT.

The core group comprises 15 professional consultants. Office is capable of working in six official EU languages (English, French, German, Spanish, Dutch, and Portuguese) as well as in Polish.

In addition to the above, we collaborate with IT outsourcing companies in the Netherlands and Finland; and independent specialist consultants in the Benelux with there own network of trade channels and business contacts across verticals but particularly among banks and Fls. They have a long and diverse track record that includes consulting for large European companies.

For venture funding and related requirements, we collaborate with a Malaysia- based corporate finance and strategic advisory firm founded in 1996; and for large requirements, with a Far Eastern private equity investment firm with around US $ 200 million under management.
